New Interest Groups Project Underway

Lake Erie Yearly Meeting’s Executive Committee approved a virtual interest group discussion forum for the upcoming year to focus on topics relating to Peace, Justice and Earthcare.

The purpose of this newly formed interest group is to provide a space where members/attenders of monthly meetings can have a virtual Zoom platform to discuss important Peace, Justice and Earthcare concerns with other Friends. The topics will be discussed during 4 sessions throughout the year and can be proposed by any individual within the monthly meetings. Individuals who have a topic they would like to lead a discussion on can register on the website. We hope to have 4 to 6 discussion leaders and topics for each of the four sessions.

We have created an 8-minute video describing the program

Introduction to Interest Group Project

There are three important dates to remember for this program.

  1. Members/attenders can suggest a topic of interest and volunteer to be a discussion leader by going to the website and registering as a discussion leader by November 7th.
  2. The topics will be posted on the website by November 15th . All interested Friends can register for the breakout sessions on the website after that date.
  3. The first discussion forum will take place on Saturday, December 5 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 pm.

This is a newly developed, innovative virtual format to meet the needs of our members related to their Peace, Justice, and Earth care concerns. We appreciate your support for this new program. If you have any questions, please contact Joel Ottenbreit at:
