LEYM Fall High School Teen Retreat

The fall retreat’s workshop is being facilitated by LEYM’s own Abbey Pratt-Harrington. We will also be visiting nearby Cedar Point for a “Halloweekend” Saturday afternoon/evening filled with thrills and fun on Lake Erie.

Spiritual Formation 2011-2012 Program with Richard Lee

This year’s LEYM Spiritual Formation retreat program is on the theme “Healing in the Manner of Friends.” The retreats will take place September 9-11 2011 at the Weber Retreat Center in Adrian MI and May 5, 2012 at the Michigan Friends Center in Chelsea, MI. Draft of Updated Policy and Procedures document

Dear Friends,
Attached below is a pdf file for what we hope is the final draft of a new edition of Lake Erie Yearly Meeting Policies and Procedures. The ad hoc committee that has prepared this edition expects to take this draft for consideration at Annual Sessions later this month. An earlier draft was circulated to meetings and worship groups as well as the Executive Committee in February, with an invitation to “explore it, test it, and think about how it might be improved.” The original deadline was shortly before Representative Meeting, but at that session the deadline was extended to June 1, and printed copies of the new edition were distributed to monthly meetings. Subsequently many helpful suggestions arrived, and the ad hoc committee has incorporated most of them; in addition, another appendix was inserted and the index was expanded considerably.
Although not every small adjustment is marked in this draft, red type indicates all corrections, substantive changes, and additions. Any remaining errors found herein should be communicated to Jeff Cooper (cooperdaub@hotmail.com) before the start of Annual Sessions. LEYM Advices and Queries Document for Review

Thomas Taylor, clerk of the Ad Hoc Committee on LEYM Advices and Queries has asked us to share the attached document to be considered for approval at our yearly meeting sessions on 28-31 July in Bluffton. One important point to note is that the YM will be asked to decide whether the material in the “afterward,” which deals with the LEYM experience with advices and queries and the process used in developing this booklet (pp 20-24), should be included in the final printed edition.
In addition to the attached word document which can be downloaded, Thomas will have draft copies available at the YM sessions for Friends to consult.
